about

This track tells a musical story about a life-changing experience I had living in a cave for 3 days on a holy place atop a mountain in the Black Hills region of South Dakota.

The highest point in South Dakota known as Harney Peak for over 150 years was renamed "Black Elk Peak" in 2016 to honor Black Elk was a wičháša wakȟáŋ ("medicine man, holy man") and heyoka of the Oglala Lakota people. Many Native Americans consider this area to be the sacred axis centerpoint of the world.

The energy and feeling inside that cave, and the acoustics and vibrations were unlike anything I've experienced. This original piano solo was created in the spirit of this Cave.
